IT Girls serves girls ages 10–18 across Texas. She does not need to be at the top of her class, already confident, or certain about what she wants to become. Those are some of the things our programs help her explore.
Registration takes place through our parent portal at portal.itgirls.space. A parent or guardian creates the account, adds the child’s information, and selects the appropriate programs or events.
She practices things adulthood will ask of her later: writing and delivering her own remarks, leading a discussion, collaborating with a team, meeting working professionals, making something with her hands, and making decisions while others are counting on her.
Every experience is designed to help her participate, not simply sit and watch.
Costs vary by program. Many community events are offered at no cost, while membership and certain programs may carry a fee. Any applicable price will be displayed before you complete registration.
If cost may prevent your daughter from participating, please contact us. We would rather have the conversation than have her miss an opportunity.
Most girls arrive without knowing everyone in the room. Sessions are intentionally structured so that each girl is welcomed, introduced, included, and given something meaningful to do.
She will not be expected to find her own way into a group that has already formed.
Programs are held across Texas in schools, workplaces, conference venues, and community spaces. The specific location and arrival details will appear on each event listing.
It depends on the program. Some experiences are single workshops, while others run as a series or continue throughout the program year.

Requirements vary by event. The registration page will clearly state whether an active IT Girls membership is required.
Each event listing will include any clothing, equipment, meals, arrival instructions, or other requirements. If nothing special is listed, she should arrive comfortable and ready to participate.

Speaking with A Purpose is our flagship communication workshop. Girls write, rehearse, and deliver their own remarks before presenting to an audience beyond their immediate circle.
The goal is not a perfect speech. It is helping her discover that her voice can hold a room.
Rites of Passage are intentional experiences that recognize a girl’s growth from childhood toward young adulthood.
They give girls space to reflect on what they have learned, acknowledge how they have changed, and step into their next season with greater confidence and self-awareness.
A mentor listens closely enough to remember what a girl said she wanted months ago, and cares enough to ask her about it again.
Mentoring includes group and individual connection with women who commit to showing up consistently rather than appearing for one afternoon.
Yes. Career exposure and workplace visits are central to our work.
A career becomes easier to imagine after she has entered the workplace, handled the equipment, met women in the profession, and asked how they found their way there.
Women aged 21 or older who are prepared to show up consistently may apply. No particular career background is required; our mentors bring experience from many professions, industries, and walks of life.
Mentors should expect to commit approximately six hours each month during the program year, which currently runs from September through August.
The regular schedule includes an in-person meeting on the second Saturday from 2:00 to 5:00 p.m. and optional Sunday Zoom check-ins from 5:00 to 6:00 p.m. Central Time.

A girl often gains more from one trusted adult who continues showing up than from several people who each appear only once. Time allows trust to form and gives a mentor the opportunity to notice real growth.
Yes. Every prospective mentor must consent to and complete a background check before placement.
We are placing adults in positions of trust alongside young people, and we take that responsibility seriously.

Your workplace already contains people, professions, and environments a girl may never have encountered.
Your organization can host a workplace visit, lead a hands-on workshop, provide employee mentors, sponsor an experience, or introduce girls to women working in your field.
Donations help cover the practical resources that make meaningful programs possible, including venues, transportation, workshop materials, equipment, meals, instructors, conference participation, and repeat programming.
That repeat programming matters because lasting confidence and trusted relationships take time.
Often, yes. Suitable event space, equipment, professional expertise, workplace access, supplies, and employee time may all be valuable.

Health, allergy, dietary, and support information is available only to authorized team members who need it to support safe participation. Passwords are securely hashed, and online payments are processed through PayPal; IT Girls does not store your card details.
